Are you volunteering as a coach or safeguarded parent with your local sports club? Do you possess the necessary skills to deal with a First Aid Emergency if needed?

The Sports First Aid course will enable the user to use valuable basic skills & tools to manage with confidence a First Aid Emergency that may present.

Who is it for?

Any adult in a coaching role/safeguarding parent role within a Club or Sporting Organisation.

Course Content

Irish Heart Foundation/American Heart Association Heartstart CPR & AED course (Worldwide accreditation) 4 hrs

Sports Add On (2 Hrs)

  1. Respiratory Emergencies, Diabetes, Seizures/Epilepsy & Anaphylaxis (use of Epipen)

  2. Accident Management & Patient Assessment -Recover Position

  3. Wounds, Bleeding & Shock

  4. Musculoskeletal Injuries (Fractures, Sprains, Strains & Dislocations

  5. Spinal Injuries, Head Injuries, Concussion & Compression

  6. Contents of the First Aid Bag.

Method of Delivery

The course is facilitated by an accredited IHF instructor/Healthcare Practitioner who will use Video’s, PowerPoint presentation and practical sessions to guide you through the course.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued with an IHF/AHA Heartstart CPR & AED certificate along with a Sports First Aid from Vital Obs Donegal.

Certificate valid for 2 years.
